Summer in Lech and at the Tannberg

Mountain Summers in a Beautiful Cultural Landscape

Flower-filled meadows, fresh mountain air and the gentle sound of cowbells – this is summer in Lech.

When the scent of freshly cut hay fills the air and cowbells echo across the alpine meadows, summer has arrived in the mountains. Where our guests ski down snow-covered slopes in winter, they are greeted by an astonishing variety of wildflowers during the warmer months.

Early summer is particularly impressive: Before the first hay harvest, the meadows in the valley are in full bloom, while snow often still covers the mountain peaks. Depending on the altitude and time of year, the landscape reveals a different and fascinating side of itself.

The region also offers many remarkable geological features. The Gypsum Holes, the Stone Sea and other natural wonders invite you to explore and discover.

But summer in Lech offers much more than nature and tranquillity. A wide range of sporting activities, events, summer cable cars and the local bus service provide plenty of variety. On warm days, the forest swimming pool is the perfect place for a refreshing dip or a relaxing break surrounded by nature.

A Peaceful Location in the Heart of the Hiking Area

Step outside Pension Bergland and begin exploring the mountains of Lech.

Pension Bergland enjoys a peaceful location between Lech and Oberlech, with magnificent views of the village and the surrounding mountains. Our sun terraces, garden and balconies are perfect places to relax. Numerous hiking trails start right outside our door.

The most important distances at a glance:

  • Local bus: The “Spitzenegg” stop for line 704 is less than 100 metres away
  • Lech village centre: Approximately 1.1 kilometres, a 15–20-minute walk
  • Uphill return walk: Approximately 20–30 minutes, with an elevation gain of around 130 metres
  • Oberlech cable car: Approximately 1 kilometre away; in summer it runs every 15 minutes until 6:00 pm
  • Petersboden lift: Also within easy walking distance

Please note that there are no restaurants in the immediate vicinity of our guesthouse during the summer. However, Lech and Oberlech offer an excellent selection of restaurants. We will be happy to assist you with personal recommendations and reservations.

Arrival in summer in Lech am Arlberg

ARRIVING BY CAR

Lech belongs to the westernmost province of Austria, Vorarlberg, and is located on the B198. Coming from the south, go over the Alpe Rauz through the Flexengalerie and Zürs to Lech. Drive through the whole village and then turn left direction Oberlech. At the second bend (Haus Bergquell) go straight on for another 50m and you have reached your destination (on the left).

In summer it is also possible to arrive via the Lechtal or the Bregenzerwald. Coming from here, immediately after the Lech town sign, turn sharp right in the direction of Oberlech.

Motorway vignette

Motorways in Austria are subject to tolls. Vignettes are available at border crossings, petrol stations, post offices, tobacconists, your automobile club and Lech Zürs Tourismus. You can buy the digital vignette ONLINE. Your digital vignette is valid once your registration confirmation has been received, this usually takes place within a few minutes. It will then be recognized and accepted by the digital control devices.

Taxi Der Lecher

ARRIVAL BY TRAIN

You can travel comfortably by train with the Austrian Federal Railways. Destinations are the train station Langen or St. Anton am Arlberg. With the door-to-door luggage service, ÖBB also offers a luggage delivery service - from your home to Pension Bergland and of course back again. Coming from Vienna, overnight travel to the Arlberg is possible with the ÖBB Nightjet.

Some trains only stop either in Langen or in St. Anton.

From St. Anton am Arlberg, you can continue your journey to Lech Zürs by bus line 92. From Langen am Arlberg it is bus line 91. From Lech to Oberlech, line 4 goes to the Spitzenegg stop. Current bus timetables can be found here.

For a relaxed and reliable transfer in a taxi, we recommend a reservation at Taxi "Der Lecher"

If you are arriving by train from neighboring countries, see Trainline for connections and prices.

ARRIVAL BY PLANE

For all those travelling from afar or who generally prefer air travel, the destination airports are Zurich,

Friedrichshafen, Innsbruck, Memmingen (Allgäu) or Munich.

We recommend Zurich Airport in conjunction with the Arlberg Express Airport Shuttle .

To get from the airport to Lech, it is of course up to you whether you want to drive a rental car, use public

transport (bus and train) or have "Der Lecher" Airport Taxi chauffeur you right to your front door.

If you are arriving by train, see Trainline connections and prices.
